When you think about the size of an average penis, 6 to 6.5 inches is probably what comes into your head. Do you know where that average penis size comes from though? There has never been a penis size survey performed under controlled conditions by physicians. In fact the largest and most well-known penis size survey dates back to 1948 when the results were published by Alfred Kinsey in his book, Sexual Behavior in the Human Male. The trouble is that the results gathered for this survey were based on questions and interviews rather than controlled measurements by impartial statisticians.
Since the 1940’s, there has been little research in the area of penis size. The figures we still use today are very old and based on flawed data. So why is penis size information so elusive? Penises are everywhere. You can find them in locker rooms and public showers, or at the urinals in a public restroom. The reason we do not look, measure and study could be contributed to an anxiety most men have about discussing their penis. This anxiety comes from feeling inadequate based on penis size information that is inaccurate in the first place. This whole fear creates a cycle.
Until penis size is accurately discussed measured probed and documented under controlled supervision, we will continue to base our own shortcomings on the Kinsey Reports penis size survey, which states the average white male penis size is 6.2 inches long and 3.7 inches around and the average black male penis size is 6.3 inches long and 3.8 inches around. One penis size survey that is currently underway requires measurement verification by way of a photograph of the actual measurement taking place. This is helpful but it is still possible to falsify a bigger penis.
Alfred Kinsey was certainly ahead of his time when he tackled the controversial subject of human sexuality, but now we need a physician or university to step up to the plate and pick up the research where he left off for penis size information. Without facts, men everywhere will continue to be envious of an illusion rather than appreciative of a working healthy penis.
